Here is an article from the Wall Street Journal about changing trends in wedding registries around the country. Sports equipment, grills and other items are now becoming more common, with less of an emphasis on special occasion items such as formal china.
While I’m all in favor of adding practical items, I also think this is an opportunity to receive some “nice to have” items – most couples may not spend money later in their marriage on items such as crystal and china, while they would likely invest in a grill.
